God's Promise of Hope During These Times

Four hundred years ago, St. Francis of de Sales wrote “…Hold fast to God’s hand and He will lead you safely through all trials” He had no idea that we would be finding hope and comfort in what he had to say about his world that is true in ours. We may have survived 2020 but as we begin 2021, we are suffering from chaos wed never dreamed could happen. Not only are we suffering with Covid-19 fatigue, but our nation is in deep and complicated turmoil. We are thankful that God is with us but most of us are overwhelmed. We can be assured by God’s Word and the words of people like St. Francis of de Sales that chaos is nothing new and that God created us out of chaos in the very beginning. God loves us just as much now as He did then. God’s love never fails us. We are now and always have been in God’s hands no matter what situation we are in, alone or together. Let us set aside our differences and support each other with love and kindness. With God’s help, we can do this! I believe “With God’s help, we ARE doing this”. Pray without ceasing for the leaders and citizens of our nation. Pray for all front line, essential and non-essential workers and for all who are suffering or suffering from loss due during the pandemic. Pray or each other. I am praying for you.

Your Sister in Christ loves you!

St. Joseph's Lily (Amaryllis) makes me happy and reminds me of the hope springing from a single bulb. You are like that lily. hope blooms beautifully from your love and kindness. Tradition says that St. Joseph's staff bloomed with this kind of lily when he accepted Mary as his wife and promised God to Raise God's Son Jesus and love and care for them.
